Mount Kilimanjaro is not only Africa’s highest peak, it is also one of Africa’s most popular physical challenges! At 5892 meters above sea level, and 4600 meters above it’s base, the mountain provides a serious and demanding trek that takes between 6 and 10 days, depending on which of the six routes your climbing.

Technically the climb is fairly easy, but physically it is a challenge, even for the most fit. So do not think that this is a mountain that anyone can ascend! Everyone climbing the mountain will be affected by the high altitude, and the symptoms are usually shortage of breath, head aches and hypothermia. This results in a substantial number of hikers that have to give up before they reach the summit.
But for those who make it to the top, they have conquered one of Africa’s greatest challenges, and on the way they could enjoy the most amazing views!
