Traveling to a different continent, different country or just a different city, can usually make it very difficult to sustain your regular food habits. Though, often it is not because the food you want are not available, it’s just that you don’t know where to find it. Personally, I have had a very recent revelation that convinced me to be much better at eating organic food (I never used to care, and I am not a freak about it, I just got shocked and disgusted from watching the documentary Food Inc). And that inspired me to find out; Where can i buy organic food in Cape Town? Are there any organic restaurants, shops or farmer’s markets in the mother city? Let’s find out..

Food in South Africa: What is cooking for us hungry World Cup tourists?

South African Cuisine When I am traveling, food often happens to be the main focus of my days. As soon as the breakfast is consumed I am already thinking about lunch. The dinner has been staked out days ahead. Actually food is so important to my travels that it can be the deciding factor of what my destination will be. For example, I really want to travel to India and my main motivation for that is the amazing Indian cooking! Same with Thailand. But how about South Africa? Are there any gastronomic surprises waiting for all those hungry World Cup tourists? What kind of food do they serve for tourists in South Africa?
