I suggest you Africa – a continent that guarantees you every bit of a complete package of holiday. You can get amazed by the ancient collection of culture and tradition or kneel down in front of the Almighty in the age old temples in Egypt, or serve yourself a variety of languages and festivals with South Africa. The whole of Africa offers whatever you want. Talking about fun and relaxing, where are the beaches? Not to worry. Soon we’ll get you introduced with that too, and in Africa itself!

Hermanus – adding spice to the dish of your African tour! It’s a pretty, delightful town by the seaside. Its costs only an hour, or may be half a more, from Cape Town and is like a cheese slice in between two buns – the Walker bay horse-shoe coastline coast line and a high lofty mountain range away at a distance of a few kilometers from the town. Hermanus is a place for both, the active and the laid down, with so much to do and see – the beautiful scenic locations; so may activities and restaurants to keep you busy exploring, and yet it is a place to relax after the tough and adventurous tour of vastly explorable Africa.

Hermanus is the Green peace’s magic card for Whale watching. There’s a whole week long Wale Festival at the end of September, held annually, attracting excited 100,000 and more people for watching the Whales. Commonly spotted are the Southern Right Whales, Humpbacks and Bryde Whales, and the recorded number is over 193, which is the highest number of whales watched in one day. There are 4 boats at your service that take rounds in the sea, taking you to meet the Whales. But there are many vantage points on the cliff-tops that allow you to watch the gentle and large marine creatures swim slowly.

The coast at Gansbaai, witnesses the Great White Shark cage diving, based 50 kms around it. This once-in-a-lifetime activity is done at, apparently, this only place and hence attracts people of the upper-line i.e. film and music stars, and TV crews. Diving in a place full of sharks and that too caged! Don’t panic. It’s a completely safe, but an exhilarating experience to close up to such large creatures. The best time to site these creatures glide by through clear water down to the depth of 10-20 meters, is the winter time in South Africa.

The Cape Floral Kingdom is set in a World Heritage site and is amazingly colorful, with over thousands of diverse plant species. They are all collectively called Fynbos. There’s the Hermanus Flower Festival help up in September each year and experiencing the walks and hikes through the mountains and the Fernkloof Nature Reserve is an amazing delight.

The city life of Hermanus is as active as any metropolitan. 70 restaurants all over and 2 nightclubs, with numerous cafes and a band venue never let you go hungry, thirsty or bored on the way, tripping off. The aroma of a variety of cuisines, such as Italian, French, Indian, and many other individual dishes like lobsters, steaks, prawns and sushi fills your nostrils, tempting you further to get your tummy filled too. Hermanus boasts its own wine route and numerous wineries to get down on 70 different wines. So many activities from Tree Top Canopy rope slides to Sandboarding; Quad Biking and Cessna plane flights, Kayaking in Walker Bay to close up to the sharks, whales, seals, penguins, and dolphins and Horse riding in the mountains or along the Grotto Beach, Art and Craft markets displaying the African crafts and two large Golf courses, Bird watching and amazing Safari tours – so much to do, difficult to even count and list down. The accommodations become very comfortable ranging from 5 stars hotels and Guest houses to Lodges and boarding.

A week of fun-filled, action-packed, yet relaxing and the one satisfying the want of scenic beauty, holiday in Hermanus, South Africa is a lot to be offered.
